FRIENDLY RECEPTION AT KELLY’S ICE CREAM SHOP

As three of us walked into Kelly’s Ice Cream Shop the proprietor smiled broadly and said, “Here comes another one!” He asked questions that we were beginning to get used to hearing: “Where are you from?” “How many are attending?” Later, he told us that if there was anything he could do to help, just let him know. He said that if a group wanted to come in together, he could make plans to seat and serve them. He seemed really glad to see us and was most pleasant and accommodating. We suggested that next time we come he should name a sundae for us. We were kidding but his wife took our suggestion seriously and said, “You know, some of our best ideas come from our customers.” We thoroughly expect that if we should go there again, there would be a huge welcome sign in Kelly’s window, complete with the offer of a “Wyche Family Sundae “.
